Flower: White rounded clusters
Leaves: thin, arranged oppositely, ½ to 3 inches long and 1/3 to 2¼ inches wide, hairless, egg to heart-shaped with a pointed tip, and coarsely toothed around the edges
Fruit/Seed: nut-like, bristle covered oblong seed
Height: 3-12 inches
Flowering: June to August
Habitat: Damp woods and swamps
