Nancy received an M.S. degree in Plant Pathology from Penn State University, and worked in the Fusarium Research Center there for five years. She spent four years at University of Florida Tropical Research and Education Center in vegetable pathology, came to University of Delaware in 1993 and retired from there in 2020. As an Extension Agent for UD, Nancy managed the UD Plant Diagnostic Clinic. She taught a course entitled Introduction to the Fungi, and presented numerous guest lectures, short courses, and Master Gardener training. She also worked in cooperation with the National Plant Diagnostic Network, Delaware Department of Agriculture and USDA/APHIS on pest surveys and detection within the Mid-Atlantic region.
