Salvia sclareoides
Salvia sclareoides
The South-Salvia, Clary-bastard, or Viscous-Salvia-of-the-hills, is an Iberian endemism that occurs only in the southwest of the peninsula, with limited presence in Algarve, Extremadura and Beira Litoral, on this side of the border. It can be found in developed brushwoods, on limestone interior mountains, land lawns, or uncultured, often stony, calcareous, loamy or clay soils, up to 1700m altitude. It is attributed to this medicinal plant properties in fighting of Alzheimer's disease.
