Historical use of medicinal plants.

Historical Use

Cat's claw has been used as a traditional medicine by the indigenous peoples of the Amazonian rainforest for at least 2000 years to cure fever, infections, wounds, menstrual irregularity, joints inflammation and many other conditions and illnesses, like tumors, gastric ulcers and arthritis. It was used also for skin healing, lung conditions, contraception, urinary tract infections, rheumatism and weakness. Additionally, it was used as a treatment option for mental disorders. This is the reason this plant is also known as the "life-giving vine of Peru".
