The pinnacle of the Alien Breed series. Clearly the developers learned from the flaws in the earlier games and this is the culmination.
Excellent graphics and sound, you can move backwards while shooting, and the way many levels have multiple exits gives you plenty of replay value. It's impossible to see every level in a single playthrough so you'll want to try again just to see what you missed.
But it's VERY hard, and those radiation zones are a real pain

The best episode of the serie.

By far the best with a much larger world to explore. Team 17 really hit one out of the park with this in my opinion.

Dan Locke. Yeah i know jonathan nash gave Alien breed 3D 91% which was a well deserved score by the way as I really like it too.
Strange isnt it?
But most of the time in my opinion he was just too stupidly petty, harsh and mean and unforgiving.
Another game that I though Amiga Power gave a stupidly low score to was Wolfchild (58% in issue 10).
They annoyed me with their low scores sometimes

In my Top 10 Amiga games list. I love all 2d Alien Breed games but this is the best
10/10 (Alien breed 3d was never realistic for me with my bog basic A1200)

Yet another great Alien Breed game, yes it is hard, yes it is frustrating, yes they respawn in the worst possible moment! But come on! It's fun.
This is the game I've played the most, and still does to this very day even though I haven't got any far.
Looks great, sounds great, the music is awesome.

>Jonathan Nash (and a few others to a lesser extent) was an overly sadistic game reviewer trying to make a name for himself and too look all big, hard and clever and mean.
You mean the Jonathan Nash who gave Alien Breed 3D a score of 91%?
>But this overly harsh approach was like a slow suicide and just helped to kill off the Amiga in my opinion. What do others think?
Stuart Campbell certainly thought otherwise. [www]
I don't want you to get the impression that I'm some kind of deranged fanboy who thinks that Amiga Power could do no wrong, because, as much as I love the magazine, I strongly disagree with many of their judgements (including, funnily enough, this one). But I'm certainly not going to go in the opposite extreme and blame those disagreements on their being immature or manipulative.

Yes Tower Assault and ATR had some flaws and weren't perfect, but having played them myself a fair amount, i still think they deserved more than the very low marks given to them by Amiga Power.

>This was vastly underrated by stupid Amiga Power (46%). They loved unfairly slagging off Team 17 games as they didn't get on with them.
Sure. [www]
>Either that or they had no patience with tough games...
Have you even READ an Amiga Power review?

The last in the alien breed 2D series, and just as good as the others! Hard as nails, but introduced the ability to fire while walking backwards which is something that the others were so sorely missing!
Classic alien breed action! A must have for the complete Alien breed 2D collection!

The perfect dose of fun for a team of two players. It is totally impossible to finish it alone. If you are two, then you can elaborate strategues, defend the back of your teammate and advance into the tower. The graphics are nice, the sound is perfect and the playabilty is good. But dont try this alone, it would be suicide.

Tower Assault is even harder and more frustrating than Alien Breed 2. The designer's mission seems to be to inflict as much pain and frustration as possible onto the player.

Very good game. One of the best on the Amiga. If you were a lucky owner of a harddrive then you could insert disk 2 when booting to create an install disk. 10/10 superb!

To those who didn't play it, two words : fire, walk. And yes, you could fire while walking back. Not obvious in those times.

The most complexed and ultimate from all Alien Breed 2D series. The game is excellent. It has all the advantages of the prequels and still gives you a lot more and more of fun. Amazing experience of being able to finish the game in many, many different ways which makes the game every time different.

Far superior to those crappy 3D ones that came after. This is about as classy as Alien Breed got and its superb. Very tough though. Hell took me a while on my first go to find out how to actually get inside

YES ! This was on eof the best Alien Breed games to ever grace the Amiga family!
Nice GFX, atomspheric sound & music, good level design & to be quite honest I never got bored of it. I liked the added touch they put in this particular game where it wasn't in others, where you shot the aliens & stepped back at same time, calling it the "retreat mode", good idea!

Yep, Deadly_Cookie I share the exact same opinion as you too! A excellent game with all round quality.

Best of all AB games, but... Could be better yet in one way: I really don´t like those annoying aliens, who crawl from the floor and are unlimited. This make the game unpleasant to play

Pretty good and pretty hard too. I could never figure out the popularity of the Alien Breed series, until the 3D one came out. This game was not bad but too hard and unrewarding. The AGA version graphics are OK, ECS are terrible.

The best version of the Alien Breed series in my opinion. Beautiful graphics, and level-design - multiple locations - military tower, storage area, science, prison, civilisation tower etc etc. Multiple ways to complete the game. A classic.
