Jacqui Smith will be hoping to win votes in the latest series of Strictly Come Dancing.

The former Home Secretary has been paired with Strictly stalwart Anton Du Beke for the 2020 run which officially begins on Saturday night.

Jacqui, 57, worked as a Labour politician for more than a decade and was the first female Home Secretary when she was appointed in Gordon Brown's first Cabinet reshuffle in 2007.

Prior to that she had worked as the Government's Chief Whip and served as the Minister of State for Schools in the Department for Education and Skills.

Since leaving politics Jacqui has appeared on a variety of current affairs talk shows including This Week and Question Time and was also a regular weekly commentator on Sky News's Press Preview.

She is also the Chair of the Jo Cox Foundation.
