Well Met, the conferencing office of Leeds Beckett University, welcomes the VIVIT Experience, an award-winning synthetic post-mortem event, on Saturday 3 November to the James Graham Building, Headingley Campus, Leeds.
The VIVIT Experience is an award-winning academic experience offering students involved in biosciences, health, sports or associated degrees, the opportunity to participate in a recreated post-mortem experience.
Clare Vidler, Conference Manager at Well Met, said: “The grade II listed James Graham building in the heart of three-acres of parkland at Headingley campus provides a great backdrop for the VIVIT Experience. Leeds Beckett students involved in biomedical sciences, human biology or sports sciences will be able to get a close-up and hands-on experience of how the human body works at this event.
“This hugely successful tour has received fantastic reviews from students who have attended the event and been able to immerse themselves in this realistic and detailed understanding of human anatomy and physiology.”
The five-hour VIVIT post-mortem experience is conducted on the world’s only semi-synthetic human cadaver and is a scientifically accurate recreated human body dissection, relevant to any student learning in-depth anatomy and physiology relevant to their academic studies.
The VIVIT Experience is designed to support students currently studying in the areas of biosciences, health, and sports that require an understanding of advanced anatomy and physiology or indeed the associated clinical pathologies.
The procedure is led by Samuel Piri and his team who set out the basics of anatomical dissection before systematically working their way through the anatomical cavities, comparing normal specimens with various states of pathology. Important clinical skills such as interpreting X-rays and linking symptoms to clinical diagnosis are covered. Students can experience close up how the body works and will have the opportunity to ask questions as well as try out dissection for themselves.

Former teacher, Samuel Piri, who set up the VIVT experience, recently secured investment from Peter Jones and Deborah Meaden on BBC2’s Dragons Den.
