Driffield Methodist church on Westgate, (YO25 6TJ) is the former Wesleyan Methodist chapel, although a Wesleyan member returning now would not recognise the front. Street View shows substantial change between 2018 and 2022 when the previous impressive porch was replaced by an even more impressive glass frontage.
The chapel was built in 1879-1880 and the architect was Mr. H. J. Paull, FRIBA. The chapel is set back from the road (and formerly had a print works in front of it) and Mr Paull concentrated on decorating the front facade, the only part that could be easily seen..
