Born in March 6, 1926 and graduated from Longville High School. He served in the Navy during WWII and was a Machinist 3rd Class serving aboard the USS Castle Rock (AVP35). He had worked for the D.N.R., a career that he loved up until his retirement at the age of 56. He worked as a logger and also operated the Shady Nook Resort on Big Boy Lake, where he also ran a launch service. Grateful for having shared his life are his wife, Helen, Boy River.

Gilbert Born January 22, 1932 in Frankfort, MI. Died August 22, 2000 at home in Minnetonka, MN. She was the daughter of Anna and Peter Karpen. Peter. Anna, and sister, Alice preceded her in death.

She is survived by husband, Jim; sons. Peter (Sarah), Philip (Judy), and David; grandchildren, Emily, Dain, Allison and Susannah: sisters, Marie Glowiak and family, and Lucille Laundrie and family; and brother, Raymond. Wumpy loved tennis, crossword puzzles, softball, volleyball, gardening, and travel. She was a member of the Minnetonka United Methodist Church, Minnetonka Tennis Club, Y's Menettes, and was active with the American Cancer Society where she received the "Shirley King Award" for her leadership in several Cancer Crusades. Special thanks to her many friends who were SO kind through her recent illness with blood donations, notes, calls, and offers of assistance, and to the medical staff at the Meadowbrook Cancer Center, Methodist Hospital and Hospice, and the Carlson Urgent Care.

Wumpy requested no memorial service, but hopes that her friends would remember her in prayer, and remember the great times shared together. Know that her soul has been set free, and she is with her heavenly family. Holahan, age 83, and Rosalind Plant Holahan, age 84, husband and wife, of 9735 Jeske Ave NW. Annandale, were fatally injured in an automobile accident in Orono on August 23, 2000. Rosalind died at the scene and John died later at North Memorial Medical Center. Robbinsdale. John L.

Holahan was born September 20, 1916 in Minneapolis to John J. and Rose B. (Seubert) Holahan. After serving in the U.S. Navy during WWII, he worked for General Mills, Inc.

many years as a chemical engineer, retiring as Vice- President of Research New Development in 1978. He was a former member of the Annandale Care Center Board and Annandale School Board, of which he had served as Chair. He was a member of Annandale Kiwanis Club and Buffalo Community Orchestra. He did volunteer work at Annandale Care Center and Annandale Schools. Rosalind Plant Holahan was born July 22, 1916 in Minneapolis to John H.

and Grace E. (Kennedy) Plant. She was a homemaker and member of Friendship Ventures Auxiliary. She did volunteer work at St. Mary's Hospital, Minneapolis, St.

Cloud Hospital, and Annandale Care Center. John and Rosalind were married June 22, 1940 in Minneapolis where they lived until moving to Clearwater Lake, near Annandale in 1966. They were founding members of Friendship Ventures, Annandale and A.R.C. of MN and members of St. Ignatius Church.

Their grandchildren and many other young people will remember them for their lasting guidance and support. They are survived by their children, Peter J. of St. Cloud, John L. Jr.

his wife Midge of Edina, Shannon D. Kilkenny her partner Bridget Gaeleigh of Minneapolis; daughter-in- law, Kathleen Holahan of Annandale: 6 grandchildren, John L. Ill his wife Sarah of St. Louis, MO. Heather Wilsey her husband David of St.

He was employed for 20 years as a stockbroker specializing in gold securities.

Blake was recognized as a leading expert in this area, having made many world-wide visits to gold mining facilities. Blake loved his family, had a tremendous enthusiasm for life and had a deep religious faith. He was a consummate reader of economic and political dynamics, and a talented and prolific writer. his essays were published in several publications.
