Cymbidium sinense is a wonderful species native to China and Northern Vietnam . It produces dark red flowers that are very sweet in fragrance. This plant is also referred to in China as the 'New Year's Orchid' as it generally flowers during the Chinese New Year in February. This is from the subgenus jensoa, which are known to have compact growth habit with fragrant, small flowers. The third photo represents the current plant size for sale. We are growing in tall 4" Cymbidium pots in sphagnum moss. The flowers from this photo are from the variety called 'Da Mo', but the flowers for standard type will look identical overall.
