Melaleuca cordata ~ Heart-Leaf Honey Myrtle. ..from Western Australia. In 2010, began importing to Ojai ...in 2010. Small shrub with hearts-shaped leaves and terminal purple-pink flowers in spring thru summer. Prefers a hot dry site to thrive, but will tolerate some shade. I had one about 5yrs ago but it did not come back next season. ..and they gave me an inaccurate name of my flowers.
