Blue Sonki an erect branched plant, half a meter tall. Alternately arranged, stalkless, broad-elliptic leaves, 5-8 cm long, are acute at both ends. Leaf margin is coarsely serrated, rough, glandular. Leaves are light green above, pale beneath. Blue-purple flower-heads occcur in corymbose panicles 10-20 cm. Bracts oblong, hairy, nerves 3 pairs, grandular; style arms hairy.
