Former Infinity Ward president and the co-founder of Respawn Entertainment, Jason West, has joined Epic Games, the maker of Fortnite and Unreal Engine. According to an Epic spokesperson, West is “contributing to Epic’s development efforts.”

The Game Awards creator Geoff Keighley first reported the news on Twitter, saying that West had joined the company about a month ago. Epic confirmed to Polygon that the former co-head of Infinity Ward and Respawn is now at the company, but did not comment on which project or projects he was contributing to.

West co-founded Infinity Ward with Vince Zampella and Grant Collier in 2002. That team created the original Call of Duty series and the popular Modern Warfare sub-series, but West and Zampella were fired from the studio by parent company Activision in 2010. The duo later formed Titanfall studio Respawn Entertainment, where Zampella still works. West retired from Respawn in 2013 to address unspecified family issues.
