Dagenham Civic Centre

Richard Griffiths Architects acted as lead consultants for the refurbishment of the main public areas, Council Chamber and private offices in the north wing of the Grade II Listed Civic Centre in Dagenham, originally designed by E Barry Weber and completed in 1937.

The London Borough of Barking and Dagenham considered that the Council Chamber had outlived its historic, hierarchical function and it has been transformed into a more flexible contemporary space for social and educational purposes, fully accessible to wheelchair users, and equipped with the latest IT facilities to suit the new style of civic administration.
