Serpentine Gallery Arts for Life breakfast
'To be an artist is to believe in life,' said Henry Moore, neatly summing up the raison d'être of the new Arts for Life initiative to get art into the Chelsea and Westminster Hospital. When the charity held a breakfast at the Serpentine Gallery in the pavilion designed by Herzog & de Meuron and Ai Weiwei (doesn't exactly roll of the tongue), artists, clinicians, collectors and curators - including Sir John Baker, Lord and Lady Brittan and Edward Tang - listened to rousing talks from the likes of Julia Peyton-Jones and Hans Ulrich Obrist. The mini Eggs Benedict and Buck's Fizz no doubt played a part in persuading the art contingent to get out of bed before midday.
