For years, Zoë Heller, the prize-winning author of Notes on a Scandal, said she would never marry, declaring, "I don't see the point". Five years after she relented and tied the knot with Larry Konner, a Hollywood screenwriter 15 years her senior, she may feel that her misgivings were well placed, as Mandrake hears that the former confessional journalist has now left her husband.

"It's very sad," says one of her friends. "She discovered something about Larry that made her reassess their marriage. The dispute apparently centred on their shared finances."

Mandrake understands that Heller, 45, who was in the same London primary school class as David Miliband, is now living in New York with her two daughters by Konner, Frankie, 10, and Louella, six.

The couple married in a ceremony in Manhattan that read like a scene in a novel. They invited their closest friends to a 40th birthday party for Heller. She then changed into a wedding dress and they exchanged vows.

Tyrone Wood is like a Rolling Stone

Tyrone Wood has clearly inherited the attraction to women of his father, the Rolling Stones guitarist Ronnie Wood.

Having split up with Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, 23, last year, Ty, 27, is now courting a younger model, Cara Delevigne, who is 19. "He's a nice guy," she tells Mandrake.
