Celtic are interested in signing the Norway striker Erik Huseklepp from SK Brann. The 26-year-old, who has 17 caps, could become Neil Lennon's second transfer-window acquisition after Freddie Ljungberg arrived on a free transfer last week.

Lennon said after the Old Firm derby victory on Sunday that he was seeking reinforcements in attack. Gary Hooper, Celtic's main striker so far this season, is injured and others have failed to command a regular starting berth.

Huseklepp, who has been at Brann since 2005, was linked with a transfer to Blackburn Rovers last year.

Celtic sources, meanwhile, have distanced themselves from a move for the Dundee United forward David Goodwillie. The Scotland player has been widely tipped to leave Tannadice this month, with England now appearing a more likely destination.
