Fractured ankle set to rule midfielder out for up to 10 weeks
Albion also without Zoltan Gera for the rest of the season

The West Bromwich Albion captain, Chris Brunt, will undergo ankle surgery on Friday and be out of action for up to 10 weeks, the club have announced.

West Brom said in a statement: "Chris Brunt will undergo surgery tomorrow after scans confirmed he fractured his right ankle against Everton. He will be out for between eight to 10 weeks."

It is another major injury setback for Albion, who will be without another midfielder in Zoltan Gera for the rest of the campaign, after he underwent knee surgery last month.

A third player, Youssouf Mulumbu, is currently sidelined with a groin problem, and top scorer Shane Long needs injections to defy an ongoing back problem.
