THE TOWN

Combining Cornish charm with distinctive Victorian history, Bude (Cornwall’s most northerly town), is set around the mouth of the River Neet. Stroll along the canal and explore the many galleries and independent eateries, or visit Bude Castle for an insight into Bude’s maritime past and unique geology.

The calm waters of Bude Sea Pool are the perfect spot for children, overlooking the golden sands of Summerleaze Beach.

EAT & DRINK

With its host of independent restaurants, quirky tea rooms, vibrant beachfront cafes and boutique distilleries, Bude has a lively food scene and plays host to some of Cornwall’s most unique artisan producers.

Jostle for a table at popular Temple, or head for a sundowner at Beach at Bude - two our our favourite haunts. After a long day on the beach, visit a local farm shop to stock up on Cornish produce or freshly-caught lobster for an al-fresco BBQ back at The Pink House.

THE ATLANTIC COAST

Once the domain of shipwrecks and smugglers, today Bude’s Atlantic coastline is a playground for surfers, hikers and ocean-going thrill seekers. Walk the South West Coast Path along the rugged cliffs and take to the waves and try your hand at surfing, coasteering or stand up paddle boarding.

Further afield you’ll find the quintessentially Cornish village of Port Isaac, the ruins of Tingtagel Castle, or hop over the border into Devon to explore Lundy Island and the cliffside village of Clovelly.

“We had another great week and as you say the weather was wonderful. The location of The Pink House couldn’t be better, and all the children, including the adult males, love the sea pool.”
