This variety of Helichrysum is a shrub grown for its attractive foliage and pretty flowers. The small grey-green leaves are held tightly on spreading branches. The foliage is complemented with masses of small, white flowers which have a paper-like appearance. It grows as a dense mat to about 20 cm tall and 1 m wide, performing best when planted in full sun or partial shade on a well-drained site. It is tolerant of short periods of dry, moderate frost, and coastal environments. This Helichrysum is commonly included in rock and cottage gardens, used in border plantings, planted around outdoor living areas such as pools and the like, or mass planted as a groundcover or on a bank. It looks amazing when allowed to spill out over a wall or across a path.
