Paul Ferris jokes they ‘won’t be able to afford’ Martin Compston for Wee Man 2 as ‘his stock is through the roof’

The former Glasgow gang member spoke on the James English podcast about plans for the upcoming sequel

When asked if the second film is in the works, Paul said it was - but there would be some major changes in place.

He said: "There's talk about young Daniel Kerr taking over.

"Martin Compston's stock has gone through the roof.

"I don't even know if he would want to do it, and to be quite honest I don't think any production company could afford him at this stage."

The first movie, released in 2013, was based on Paul's life, centring around his criminal activity in his earlier years.

Martin Compston played Paul in the film.

His most recent role is in the 2018 blockbuster hit Mary Queen of Scots.

Daniel Kerr played a young Paul Ferris in the first movie.

Since then, he went on to appear in hit shows Outlander and Doctor Who.

Paul also told that the reason he even considered doing the movie in the first place was so that the 'cops wouldn't kill him.'

He said: "It's never been about financial reward.

"I done it on the basis that my solicitor said to us at the Sheriff court, you need to take bail, Paul, cause they'll just throw you out.

"And if you think the cops are gonna kill you and you've got any remit, we know about the tapes.

"If they're gonna do it, there's nothing I can do, and there's nothing you can do, other than the fact that you better make yourself so much in the public eye, it will make it harder for them to do it."
