How old is Joan Bakewell?
Joan Bakewell, a Baroness, is an 86-year-old journalist, television presenter and Labour Party Peer.
At the age of 35, she had an eight-year affair with playwright and actor Harold Pinter.
Harold, who died in 2008 aged 78, famously wrote 1978 play Betrayal inspired by their extramarital affair, which took place between 1962 and 1969.
At the time, Harold was also married to actress Vivien Merchant, but it is claimed that their married began to disintegrate in the 1960s.
The pair divorced in 1980.
The Labour peer was appointed a Commander of the Order of the British Empire (CBE) in the 1999 Birthday Honours.
At the age of 75, she was promoted to DBE (Dame Commander of the Order of the British Empire).
Who was Joan Bakewell’s husband?
Joan was married to Michael Bakewell from 1955 until 1972.
She later went on to marry director Jack Emery, 12 years her junior, in 1975 – but the pair later divorced in 2001.
