Who is Zoe Wanamaker? And what is her background?

Zoe Wanamaker, CBE, 70, was born May 13, 1949, and is a British actress of American descent.

She was born in New York City but her family moved to England when she was young.

Zoe is best known for playing the eccentric Susan Harper in the long-running sitcom My Family (2000–2011).

Other TV shows include Love Hurts, Agatha Christie's Poirot and Mr Selfridge.

She has returned to TV in new ITV show Girlfriends, which started on January 3, 2018.

Zoe has also starred in many films including Wilde (1997), Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone (2001), and My Week with Marilyn (2011).

What else has Zoe been in?

Not only is Zoe a star of TV and film, she has worked extensively with the Royal Shakespeare Company and the National Theatre.

A nine-time Olivier Award nominee, she won for Once in a Lifetime (1979) and Electra (1998).

She has also received four Tony Award nominations for her work on Broadway for Piaf (1981), Loot (1986), Electra (1999), and Awake and Sing! (2006).

Who is Zoe married to?

Zoe lived for many years with fellow Royal Shakespeare Company actor David Lyon.

In November 1994, she married actor/dramatist Gawn Grainger.

She has no children.

What is Britannia about and when's it on?

Britannia tells the story of the Roman Imperial Army of 43AD, and their determination to take over the Celtic heart of Britannia.

However, the land in question is ruled by warrior women and druids who threaten to conjure forces of the underworld in a bid to save their precious country.

The Roman Army is led by General Aurus, who will stop at nothing to achieve his goal.

Sky Atlantic and Amazon signed a co-hosting deal to the rights of the show.

You can catch the first episode of the second series on November 7, 2019 on Sky Atlantic.

The second season will be spread over ten episodes.

And if you're a Sky or Now TV customer you can watch the entire series as a box set immediately after the first episode has been broadcast.
