IN LATE November 2013, visitors to Powerscourt in Wicklow were greeted by the sight of a young woman dressed in a violently pink tracksuit, her hair knotted up in matching pink curlers. As heads turned around her, the woman passed through a gift shop and walked up a flight of stairs to a grand room overlooking landscaped gardens. Fiona Glascott was taking a break from filming scenes for The Legend of Longwood, in which she plays the manipulative, cunning and somewhat dastardly Caitlin Lemon. “Outsiders might consider her that way, but they don’t understand what she’s really about as a person,” Glascott told me, with a knowing wink.
