Celtic are confident of signing Erik Huseklepp, the 26-year-old SK Brann striker, over the next few weeks as Neil Lennon steps up his efforts to overhaul his squad.

Huseklepp, who has been on the radar of a number of clubs in England and Germany, has told Brann that he wants to leave during the January transfer window. The Norwegian is his country’s reigning player of the year.

The striker has risen to prominence both in a Brann shirt and in that of his country over the past 18 months, provoking a host of clubs to start tracking him.
