Whether you have lived in or just passed through Llanishen or Rhiwbina, chances are you have seen some of Cardiff's wonderful local landmarks that have come and gone over the years.

From the huge buildings of the soon-to-be-demolished Tax Offices to maybe enjoying a film or two at the Monico in Rhiwbina - before it was demolished in 2004 - there has been much change and things never stand still.

With news that there will soon be a new visitor hub at the Llanishen and Lisvane reservoirs, which will revitalise the emptied reservoirs, we decided to look back at what life has looked like over the decades for those who have been lucky enough to call Llanishen and Rhiwbina home.

From the sailing club to the aforementioned reservoirs and cinema, both of the suburbs have had plenty to shout about.

They are also birthplaces to many notable people including the likes of Sam Warburton, Andy Fairweather Low, and the late Return Of The Jedi/Hearts On Fire director Richard Marquand. Here we take a look at Llanishen and Rhiwbina over the years.
