Staplehurst lies on the A229, leading north to Maidstone and the M2 and M20 towards London. You can also follow it south to join the A21 towards Hastings and the coast. The nearest train stations are Staplehurst, Marden and Headcorn. Trains leave Staplehurst and Marden every 30 minutes for London Bridge, with journey times of just 51 minutes and 47 minutes, respectively.

A short history of Staplehurst

The A229 on which Staplehurst was situated is a former Roman road that led from the port at Rochester down to the south coast. Staplehurst itself dates back to the 12th or 13th century when it was a small collection of local manors. It expanded dramatically with the arrival of the rail route to London, and in 2003 Staplehurst was named Kent Village of the Year.
