New aspidosperma-type alkaloids from Tabernaemontana bovina

Two new aspidosperma-type alkaloids, taberibogines C and D (1 and 2), along with three known ones (35), were isolated from the leaves of Tabernaemontana bovina. Their structures including absolute configurations were elucidated by extensive spectroscopic analysis and X-ray crystal diffraction. Alkaloids 1-2 exhibited moderate inhibitory effects on LPS-induced nitric oxide (NO) production in RAW 264.7 macrophages.
