With the help of the local community through engagement activities we are focused on developing a Blairgowrie Local Area Community Development Pilot in collaboration with the Blairgowrie Community Action Group and other key community groups to help shape and improve the township for current and future generations.
Community development is focused on creating a sense of belonging and meeting your needs to improve overall health and wellbeing. This could include focusing on increasing tourism, supporting the local economy, improving services, participation in sport and recreation, engaging and supporting local community groups through community led projects.
The Peninsula is an empowered and resilient community, and the Blairgowrie community has demonstrated working collaboratively can improve outcomes. There are numerous projects underway to help shape Blairgowrie for future generations. Committed volunteers are working closely with the Shire as well as other partners to enhance and improve the town. The Shire and Blairgowrie Community Action Group are interested in your feedback and encourage you to get involved.
We are particularly keen to hear from the young people living in Blairgowrie. You can help influence local priorities by letting us know what you like about your town or what your needs are by uploading a picture of your favourite Blairgowrie spot and add your comments to contribute your voice and be in with a chance to win a $50 JB Hi Fi voucher.
