CHRISTINE Bleakley was said to be “thrilled” last night after Chelsea star Frank Lampard popped the question.

The delighted Daybreak presenter said Yes, then excitedly told pals: “I can’t wait to be Mrs Lamps!”

She revealed Frank’s proposal came out of the blue during their holiday this week in America.

The pair have been dating since they met at the Daily Mirror’s Pride of Britain awards in 2009.

They went for a celebratory dinner in Hollywood last night and despite Christine’s coyness, a sparkling ring was visible on her finger.

Frank then gave photographers a big thumbs-up.

A spokesman said no date had been set, adding: “They will not be making any further comment on this happy and private occasion.”

Daybreak newsreader Tasmin Lucia tweeted: “Just got a text from Christine saying she’s really happy she’s going to be “Mrs Lamps”. So cute! Franko, you’re a lucky man!”

She added: “I did sneakily ask Frank last month when he was going to propose to Christine… It must’ve been the ‘Get on with it Lamps!’ look I gave him.”

Although it may have come as a big surprise to Christine, 32, our sister paper the Sunday Mirror exclusively revealed on March 29 that the England ace was already thinking of asking her to marry him.

He has proved a hit with Christine’s parents, Mina and Fred, when visiting them in County Down, Northern Ireland. She said: “They love him as much as I do.”

She revealed that she and Frank had spoken about the possibility of starting a family. She joked: “He’d have babies in the morning.”

But Christine admits she is also keen on the idea of being a mum.

She said: “Having children is the most important thing I’ll ever do.”

Frank, 32, has two daughters, Luna, five, and Isla, four, with his ex fiancee, Spanish model Elen Rivas. The couple split in November 2008.
