Aberfoyle Village and Amenities

Aberfoyle is enjoying a resurgence and recognition for a recent boom in fantastic local businesses. Here at the Dukes we take great pride in our village and think the locals offer the best food, drink and services available. We therefore encourage our competitors explore and try out all of our favourites:

Pubs / Restaurants

DukesForth.jpg

The Forth Inn - Our Sign on location and venue for the Dukes Gathering: a great local pub with a country feel, great ales, whiskies, gins and hearty food

The Aberfoyle Inn - Opposite the Event sign on - Sport on the TV, good food and attached to:

Our local Fish and Chip Shop / Restaurant. A favourite national dish done well.

The Fairie Tree - Good beers, games, and a great eating area with beer garden, just 100m from the event village

Cafes

The Station - Newly opened but already a hit. Great coffee, cakes, light lunches, seating overlooking the village and a real life and working Space Invaders Arcade machine!

Liz MacGregors - At the bottom of the Dukes Pass on the corner just by the start - another great spot for coffee, cake, light lunch or something more substantial.

David Marshall Lodge - Just behind the Dukes Hill Climbs mid way point and bar, is the Lodge, with a fantastic panorama of the area. Open during the day and with a Land and Forestry Visitor centre attached this is a great place to grab a Pizza or Paninini and take in the landscape.

The Wool Centre - As well as selling top quality woolens and tartan, you can get a great Full Scottish breakfast of lunch in here too.

Coffees, Cakes, Snacks

Aberfoyle Delicatessan and Butcher - Fabulous pies, hearty sandwiches, good coffee and cake and a must visit if you're having a bbq.

Maggies Cake Shop - Another new business and a dangerous place to walk past if you are feeling peckish. You might accidentally come away with a bag full of scones, cakes and jam. Fantastic baking that draws us in every time.

The Wee Tablet Shop - Sit in the sun with your favourite ice cream or a bag of sweet treats. Mmm.

Michelle's Burger Van - behind our event village grab a quick bite or ice cream without losing site of the pump track

Bikes

Aberfoyle Bike Hire - As it says on the tin, they hire out bikes, but are also a really useful little bike shop which does a mean coffee and baon roll. Last year they even offered a bike clean with a coffee deal!

Community Garage and Services - It might be a car garage and filling station, but the shop has most essentials you need or might have forgotted, from camping equipment to bike tools. Amazingly useful.

Intrepid - A new independent outdoor shop. There is a bias towards the kids, outdoor guided activities and some really top quality stuff, from kids full face helmets to den making kits or wild swimming attire.

Others: A well stocked Co-Op, Post Office, Pharmacist mean you will get everything you might need. There is also a local tourist office.
