A HOTEL has announced its building expansion is 'officially complete'.

The Swan Hotel and Spa at Newby Bridge has revealed the refurbished spa will open on Tuesday, March 1, 2022.

The expansion is part of a multi-million pound scheme to expand the hotel and will include a new spa thermal suite, spa cafe and new bedrooms.

Guests can expect a hydrotherapy pool, thermal rooms, relaxation areas, and luxurious treatment rooms, offering bespoke and tailored treatments.

The café which will be serving champagne, cake and other refreshments will be a children free zone.

Since taking over ownership of the hotel in 2020, Owner of the BH Group James Houlston said the team have made a series of improvements to the spa and hotel.

He said: "The main improvements are that we have extended the hotel by a further 30 bedrooms and we have added a new state of the art spa called Hotle spa which we have just finished."

The spa and hotel has continued to operate during the renovation. Speaking about the renovation, James said: "What's different about this, is that we have created lovely bedrooms to start with.

"We have three different styles of bedrooms which are beautifully done, which really carries on the theme of the swan.

"In the spa we have created a cafe and six treatment rooms and a whole new hydrotherapy experience, which is championing the lakes by having hot and cold experiences."

As part of the renovation a new in and outdoor pool has been created with hydrothermal experiences, saunas, hot tubs and cold buckets are being added which will drench customers with cold water.

James says that this is the 'first' for the Lake District and it is a 'whole new spa experience'.

To open the new spa on Tuesday, March 1, 20221 there will be a ribbon cutting launch.

James said the opening has been a 'long time coming' and is 'delighted that we are opening for the spring and we can't wait to welcome customers to the spa."
