Head to Manor Park, get your mountain bike out on the Longdendale Trail or spend a day enjoying Howard Park.

Other local attractions for families include Hargate Hill Equestrian centre, Active Tameside, Etherow Country Park and a trip up to Mermaid’s Pool in the Peak District. If you’re a fan of craft brewing and independent bars, cafes and shops, you’ll find much to keep you interested in Glossop town centre.

Families with school age children will be pleased to know that there are 14 schools within three miles of the town centre that are rated as “Good” by Ofsted. These include St. Luke’s CofE Primary School, All Saints Catholic Voluntary Academy, Simmondley Primary School and Padfield Community Primary School. The University of Manchester and Manchester Metropolitan University are just a short train ride away. 

Glossop also enjoys great transport links. Manchester is just 35 minutes away on the train, with two services an hour running into Manchester Piccadilly. Manchester Airport is also just over half an hour away in the car.
